Tomorrow's Stewards

Tomorrow's Stewards

Yellowstone is one of the world’s premier outdoor classrooms, and the Park has many experienced, enthusiastic ranger-teachers who conduct award-winning educational programs for children. Yellowstone Park Foundation support enhances these programs and expands their reach to promote understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of Yellowstone among the next generation.

Upcoming Projects

With sustained funding, the Yellowstone Park Foundation will be able to address the Park’s emerging and anticipated needs in the area of fostering Tomorrow’s Stewards, such as:

  • Yellowstone Wildlife Olympics
As an expansion of the popular Junior Ranger program, Yellowstone National Park introduced the Yellowstone Wildlife Olympics to serve additional families who may not have time to participate in the full-scale program. This free, fun, and active learning activity, designed for children ages 5-12, will again be held on several dates in the summer of 2013. Children test their senses and compare their abilities with those of animals in Yellowstone. They have so much fun they don't even realize they are learning about wildlife and getting some exercise, too! The Wildlife Olympics proved to be a very popular and effective way to engage even more families in the Junior Ranger program.
