If you haven’t been to Yellowstone in the winter, and you have always wondered what the park looks like layered in a blanket of twinkling snow, now’s the time to consider visiting during Yellowstone’s “other” season!  We invite you to join the Yellowstone Park Foundation (YPF) for a 3-night, 4-day stay during this magical, sparkling time of year.

Your adventure starts at the historic Mammoth Hotel with choice of a special Tapas and Wine event or dinner in the Mammoth Hotel dining room.  The next day, after a morning of guided wildlife watching or viewing the Mammoth Terraces by skis, depart on an interpretive journey on a specially chartered snow coach.

The coach will take you deeper into the interior of the park, arriving at Old Faithful Snow Lodge in the late afternoon.  Along the way, learn from our knowledgeable guide about Yellowstone’s wildlife: how they survive the harshest season, who left those tracks in the snow, who is sleeping, and who is not!

Upper Geyser BasinThat evening, after you settle into your room, and have a delicious dinner in the Obsidian Dining Room, join YPF in the new Old Faithful Visitor Education Center for a special behind-the-scenes tour and private presentation for our group only.  Learn from Yellowstone National Park staff about interesting facts of the area; how tough and prepared a ranger needs to be to meet winter challenges; and stories that can only happen when you are in such extreme environments!

Save energy for the next day, as you will be choosing from several outdoor activities: a guided geyser walk or snowshoe, cross-country skiing with an Interpretive Ranger, or head out and explore the serenity of winter with a ski-drop of your choice.  Share your day’s snowy adventure with the group that evening in the dining room, or have a quiet dinner alone with your travel partner.

Yellowstone elk in winterMonday morning, make your snow coach return-trip north to the Mammoth Hotel, cherishing one more opportunity to look at the white landscape that holds some of winter's best kept secrets.
