Yellowstone Trip 2011

Camping at Slough Creek CG for 7 days with a friend.

A friend and I spent 7 wonderful days in Yellowstone this past September, 2011. We camped at Slough Creek CG the entire visit and did some hiking and wildlife watching. We saw 3 grizzly bears, several wolves, black bears, pronghorn antelope, coyotes, 3 bald eagles and common merganser ducks during our stay. As soon as we entered the park a feeling of peace and tranquility enveloped me and stayed with me the entire trip. Yellowstone is my favorite place to visit. One morning we were fixing breakfast when a bison strolled thru our camp and into Slough Creek. Another morning I awoke at 5:30 am and took a drive out into the Lamar Valley in hopes of catching sight of bears and wolves. I was rewarded by viewing a grizzly feeding on a fresh bison kill. Later that morning I saw 8 wolves further out in the valley. I am looking forward to my next trip to Yellowstone in September of 2012.
