Reserve now: Winter Weekend in Yellowstone

Enjoy the magic and wonder of winter in Yellowstone with the Yellowstone Park Foundation! Come along on a special long-weekend trip, February 8-11, 2013, with the option to spend an extra night through the 12th.

Yellowstone in the winter is an adventurer's paradise. Steam rises from hot springs and bison graze in snowy fields.

Our guide will be renowned wildlife photographer and naturalist Tom Murphy. We will start and end the trip at Mammoth Hot Springs at the North entrance to Yellowstone.

Trip highlights

• Watch for bison, elk, coyotes, raptors and grey wolves. All are easy to spot in the winter against the snow.
• Ski, walk or snowshoe around the Old Faithful geyser basin without the crowds of summer.
• Winter photography outings with a professional photographer.
• Journey through the Park in the warm comfort of a snow coach.
• Expert interpretation by NPS rangers.
• Watch wolves with biologists who study them every day. Hear wonderful stories about their behavior and interactions.

Itinerary

Friday, February 8th - Those of you who arrive before the sun sets can enjoy a wildlife viewing field trip, and then we'll all join together for a tapas dinner at the Mammoth Hotel at 6:00pm.

Saturday, February 9th - After breakfast at the hotel, we will board snow coaches and start our scenic journey into the park's interior. We will arrive at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge for dinner and lodging that night.

Sunday, February 10th - We'll have a full day at Old Faithful to explore the geyser basin, or ski/snowshoe trails if you prefer. Tom will lead optional morning and sunset photography hike/ski field trips.

Monday, February 11th - We'll return to Mammoth on snow coaches.

Tuesday, February 12th (optional) - Choose to stay an additional day for wolf watching in the Lamar Valley.

Pricing

Package 1  - All inclusive price per person for three nights of lodging is $1,209 for single occupancy and $1,005 for double occupancy.

Package 2 - Stay an additional night at Mammoth and pay only $1,445 per person for single occupancy and $1,195 for double occupancy.
