Recycling Roundup Think you’ve got lots to recycle? Check out these stats from the last full year of recycling in Yellowstone:
Cardboard: 290 tons Aluminum/steel: 21 tons Glass: 139 tons Tires: 61 tons Plastics: 45 tons TOTAL RECYCLED*:616 tons In addition, in 2011, Yellowstone National Park began to recycle bear spray canisters and continues with the propane canister program, recycling over 35,000 units. The Yellowstone Park Foundation provided financial support for both of these innovative programs. *statistics are from the calendar year 2010 |
