Campground & Landscape Rehabilitation Project
In Yellowstone’s “front country,” Park staff manage seven very popular and much beloved campgrounds. Due to their high use, most of these campgrounds have fallen into disrepair. Social trails and unclear tent delineation have further negatively impacted the campgrounds’ surrounding resources and aesthetic appearance. This project will focus on repairing the deteriorated campgrounds while also providing an internship opportunity for a landscape design student. The intern will work with Park staff to rehabilitate one to three campgrounds a year. When this project is completed, the Park’s campgrounds will boast many improved and standardized amenities such as delineated foot paths and tent sites, elevated tent pads, contemplative benches, planted trees, re-sown native vegetation, and the availability of trash and recycling services.
Total Project Cost: $49,040
Funds Still Needed: $18,020
