Interpret the Old Faithful Historic District

The Old Faithful area receives 85-90% of the Park's almost 3 million annual visitors. It is an area rich in geological wonders and Park history. In the fall of 2010, the Park will celebrate the opening of a new Old Faithful Visitor Education Center that will interpret the extraordinary hydrothermal features of the area. To complement this state-of-the-art building, the Yellowstone Park Foundation raised funds for the Park to create a self-guiding booklet that explains the abundant history of the Old Faithful District. Including a map of the area, historical photographs, engaging landmarks—such as the Old Faithful Inn—and fascinating vignettes of the human experience, this booklet will be available to visitors at kiosks in the Old Faithful area.

Total Project Cost: $24,445
