Gibbon Falls Wayside Exhibit

Gibbon Falls is a scenic wayside area overlooking a dramatic waterfall. Construction of a new parking area with a scenic overlook, funded through a federal highways road project, is scheduled for 2004. This concurrent project will create an interpretive exhibit for the new overlook made of stone and log and will house a porcelain interpretive panel. The panel will be the only exhibit in the park that features historic road construction and provides information about historic park roads and early construction techniques used to build them. Since this road is traveled by a great number of visitors, the exhibit will have maximum exposure and opportunity to educate park visitors about something they may take for granted: the very roads they travel. This project was funded through a generous grant from ConocoPhillips.

Total Project Cost: $31,765
