Atlas of Yellowstone

Yellowstone has many stories to share with its visitors. As the first and oldest national park, research on Yellowstone's thermal areas, abundant wildlife, and cultural history has been ongoing for more than 130 years. Unfortunately, many visitors are unable to access these stories and they do not realize how important the Park's natural history and political economy are to the health of the region. To capture the unique dimensions of Yellowstone's story, the Yellowstone Park Foundation is supporting the development of "proof-of-concept" materials for a state of the art Atlas of Yellowstone. Drawing from the Park's enormous database of information, these materials will utilize narrative text and well-developed visuals to explain how human and natural processes have impacted the Yellowstone region through varying scales of space and time. Once designed, these proof-of-concept materials will be posted on the Park website and also used to generate major funding for a complete atlas. This project was funded with a grant from Canon, U.S.A.

Total Project Cost: $28,750
