EYES ON YELLOWSTONE made possible by Canon

An educational and research program, Eyes on Yellowstone assists with important scientific studies and breaks new ground in conservation, endangered species protection and the application of cutting-edge technology that is essential to managing park wildlife and ecosystems.

Eyes on Yellowstone is made possible by generous annual grants from Canon U.S.A., Inc. to the Yellowstone Park Foundation. A partner since 1997, Canon is the single largest funder of wildlife conservation and research in Yellowstone.

Canon technology also is used for education to increase public access to the wonder and magic of one of the most recognizable and popular parks in the world.  They provide financial and technical support for the following programs:

Online Roving Rangers
Join Park rangers as they describe Yellowstone’s most popular features and answer some frequently asked questions in the two-minute Inside Yellowstone videos.  Learn even more about Yellowstone’s unique wildlife, geysers and other resources with the Yellowstone InDepth video series. These award-winning web videos are available on the Park’s website, or via podcast on iTunes.

Live Streaming Webcam
Catch an eruption of the world’s most famous geyser with the Old Faithful Geyser Live! streaming video webcam. This full-motion, live-streaming webcam is located near Old Faithful Geyser and brings online visitors views of several other geysers in the area.  Watch the launch page for scheduled live ranger talks, via webcam, each summer.

Greater Yellowstone Science Learning Center
Visit this portal to information about the natural and cultural resources of Yellowstone National Park. Find out what has been learned from research studies in the Park, download easy-to-read fact sheets, listen to sound clips, and so much more!

Windows Into Wonderland
Created especially for middle-school students, these award-winning, electronic fieldtrips bring the wonders of Yellowstone to classrooms and home computers, and will interest a wide age range of young visitors.  Embark on exciting adventures to explore numerous topics from Yellowstone’s seismic and volcanic forces, to predator-prey relationships, to fire ecology.

The Yellowstone Park Foundation is the official fundraising partner of Yellowstone National Park. We work in cooperation with the National Park Service to fund projects and programs that protect, preserve, and enhance the natural and cultural resources and the visitor experience of Yellowstone.
